A bed bug encasement is a zip-up cover made for bed bugs. It wraps the whole mattress or base, and the zip closes tightly so bugs cannot get in or out. Any bugs left inside are trapped until they die, and new bugs have nowhere to hide on the outside. We book encasement fitting across Bulimba as part of a treatment plan or on its own.

Leave the encasement on for at least a year, since trapped bugs can survive for months without feeding. Try not to tear it when changing sheets, and patch any small holes with strong tape. If you ever replace the mattress, the encasement can move across to the new one once the old one has been wrapped and taken away. Encasements also help if you are not sure whether bugs are gone, since any that turn up are easy to see.
